چکیده
Satellite imagery is commonly used to map surface water extents over time, but many approaches yield discontinuous records resulting from cloud obstruction or image archive gaps. We applied the Dynamic Surface Water Extent (DSWE) model downscaled (250-m) daily Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data in Google Earth Engine generate monthly maps for conterminous United States (US) 2003 through 2019. The aggregation of observations maximum extent produced with diminished and shadow effects across most country. continuous record analyze spatiotemporal trends stratified within Environmental Protection Agency Ecoregions. Although not all ecoregion were significant (p < 0.05), results indicate that much western eastern US underwent a decline 17-year period, while ecoregions Great Plains had positive trends. Trends also generated streamgage discharge compared same ecoregion. These agreed on directionality trend detected 54 85 ecoregions, particularly portions US, whereas congruent select deserts, Lakes region, southeastern US. By describing geographic distribution time comparing these instrumented our findings demonstrate efficacy using satellite monitor dynamics supplement traditional monitoring.

Evaluating evapotranspiration and water-use efficiency of terrestrial ecosystems in the conterminous United States using MODIS and AmeriFlux data
a r t i c l e i n f o In this study, we used the remotely-sensed data from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS), meteorological and eddy flux data and an artificial neural networks (ANNs) technique to develop a daily evapotranspiration (ET) product for the period of 2004–2005 for the conterminous U.S. We then estimated and analyzed the regional water-use efficiency (WUE) based o...
متن کاملWater balance-based actual evapotranspiration reconstruction from ground and satellite observations over the conterminous United States
The objective of this study is to produce an observationally based monthly evapotranspiration (ET) product using the simple water balance equation across the conterminous United States (CONUS). We adopted the best quality ground and satellite-based observations of the water budget components, i.e., precipitation, runoff, and water storage change, while ET is computed as the residual. Precipitat...
متن کاملModeled Areal Evaporation Trends over the Conterminous United States
Long-term (1961–1990) areal evapotranspiration (AE) has been modeled with the help of 210 stations of the Solar and Meteorological Surface Observation Network within the conterminous United States. Modeled AE, averaged over all stations, has shown an overall increase of about 2–3% in the period 1961–1990, both on an annual basis and over the warm season (May–September). The rate of increase has...
متن کاملAnalysis of LAI in Iran based on MODIS satellite data
This study was performed to evaluate the extent of leaf area in Iran from (2002) to (2016) using Remote sensing. For this purpose, we extracted data collection and leaf area index for the Iranian territory from MODIS website. The database was established with programming in MATLAB software to perform mathematical and Statistical calculations repeated. After the analysis of the data in this soft...
متن کاملEstimation of Net Ecosystem Carbon Exchange for the Conterminous United States by Combining MODIS and AmeriFlux Data
Eddy covariance flux towers provide continuous measurements of net ecosystem carbon exchange (NEE) for a wide range of climate and biome types. However, these measurements only represent the carbon fluxes at the scale of the tower footprint. To quantify the net exchange of carbon dioxide between the terrestrial biosphere and the atmosphere for regions or continents, flux tower measurements need...
